Publications

As part of NARHA’s educational goals, NARHA publishes and distributes several different industry-specific newsletters and magazines. Each of these publications feature contributions from both NARHA staff and member volunteers, and are available to our members as a member benefit in both print and electronic form. NARHA’s publications keep our members updated on the most current developments in the field of EAAT, offer advice and ideas from other members, and address issues relevant to EAAT providers and center administrators.

strides-magazineNARHA’s major publication is a full-color, quarterly magazine titled NARHA’s Strides, which features a different theme or topic each issue pertaining to our members and the world of EAAT. NARHA also sends out a twice-monthly electronic newsletter titled NARHA News, which covers news and issues within the organization, and several specialty newsletters each year including the EFMHA News, the Instructor Voice and the Admin Voice, which specifically address topics of interest to Equine Facilitated Mental Health providers, NARHA Instructors and center or program owners and administrators.

EFMHA News is a publication specifically addressing issues relevant to providers of Equine Facilitated Mental Health. It features articles by members and other industry experts on topics that promote professional development for those practicing equine facilitated psychotherapy and equine facilitated learning. Articles cover innovative curricula, program profiles, techniques for lessons, research topics, member educational opportunities, and a wide variety of other topics, as determined by member feedback and demand.

Instructor Voice covers topics related to NARHA Instructor Membership, teaching EAAT, developing lessons and programs, and industry standards and best practices. Again, content is written largely by NARHA Instructors and other members, which makes the newsletter an invaluable resource that is sure to include pertinent and relatable stories for its readers.

Admin Voice is NARHA’s third special-topic publication, and covers issues related to center ownership and operation, program administration, business and financial trends relevant to the field, and other stories either requested or contributed by NARHA Center owners and administrators. Like the Instructor Voice, the Admin Voice is a fantastic by-the-members, for-the-members resource.
